Thanks to Dr. Ann Burnett, Chair of the Women's Studies Department at
North Dakota State University, for her narration of the Faculty
Introduction to Campus Connection version 9.0.
Dr. Ann
Burnett was born in Colorado. She attended Colorado College for her
Bachelor's degree in Economics, and the University of Northern Colorado
for her Master's degree in Communication. She received her Ph.D. at the
University of Utah, with a focus on jury decision-making. With the first
year of law school under her belt from the University of Nebraska, Dr.
Burnett continues her research in jury behavior and has started her own
legal consulting business.
In addition to her interest in legal communication, Dr. Burnett also
pursues research in interpersonal communication in terms of how our
fast-paced lifestyles impact marital relationships. Currently half time
in the Communication department, Dr. Burnett is also now the Director of
Women's Studies at NDSU. Dr. Burnett resides in Moorhead with her spouse,
Dr. Mark Meister (also of the Department of Communication), daughter
Carolina (10th grader), her dog Nichols (named after St. Nick), and dog
Paula (named after the late, great Paul Wellstone).
